Astrail has no accounts, no ads and no telemetry, and it sends nothing to its author. It does talk to a few outside services to fetch covers and check for updates. This page lists each one and what it receives.

What stays on your PC
Your library, playtime, categories, settings and saved covers are kept in Astrail's data folder, %APPDATA%\com.alfonso.meteor. HUD readings such as FPS and temperatures are measured on your PC and never leave it. Your screenshots are read from the folders where Windows and Steam save them, and are only shown to you.
To delete that folder when you uninstall Astrail, check Delete the application data in the uninstaller.
What Astrail sends, and to whom
As with any connection to the internet, each of these services sees your IP address. Apart from Discord, which you turn on yourself, none of them receives anything that identifies you: Astrail has no accounts and no user IDs.
Game covers, from IGDB
- When
- When a game in your library doesn't have a saved cover yet. Once a cover is on your PC, Astrail doesn't ask for it again.
- What it sends
- The game's name, sometimes spelled a few ways to find the right match. Astrail connects with its own IGDB key, not with any account of yours.
- Servers
- id.twitch.tv, api.igdb.com and images.igdb.com. IGDB is part of Twitch.

- Twitch Privacy Notice
Update check, on GitHub
- When
- Each time Astrail starts. A new version is only downloaded if you choose to install it.
- What it sends
- A request for the file that describes the latest version. Nothing about you or your library.
- Servers
- github.com and GitHub's download servers.
- Their policy
- GitHub General Privacy Statement
Rich Presence, on Discord
- When
- Only if you turn it on in Settings, where it starts off, and only while a game from your library is running.
- What it sends
- The game's name and when you started playing. Discord shows them on your profile.
- Servers
- The Discord app on your PC, which passes them on to Discord.
- Their policy
- Discord Privacy Policy
A cover you paste
- When
- When you set a game's cover from a web address.
- What it sends
- A download request to the address you entered.
- Servers
- The site that address points to.
- Their policy
- The policy of that site.
Links on a game's page, such as PCGamingWiki, ProtonDB or YouTube, open in your browser only when you click them, and include the game's name in the search.
What Astrail doesn't do
- No telemetry, usage statistics or crash reports.
- No accounts, sign-ins or ads.
- Nothing is sent to Dalfon.dev, who makes Astrail, and no data is sold.
Without internet
Astrail works offline. Your library, launching games, playtime and saved covers don't need a connection. Covers for new games and update notices wait until you're back online.

This site is hosted by Vercel, which processes each visit, including your IP address and browser, to serve the page and protect it from abuse, as described in Vercel's privacy policy. The site runs no analytics and loads nothing from other sites. The only cookie it may set remembers the site's language when it differs from your browser's, for example after you switch it.
The download button takes you to the installer on GitHub.
Changes and questions
Astrail is made by Diego Alfonso Chicoma Ibañez (Dalfon.dev). If a version of Astrail changes what it sends or to whom, this page changes with it and shows a new date.
